We’re delighted to have added ANOTHER BATT to our 2-year-old team after his impressive 2nd in a hot Conditions race at the Curragh last weekend. Purchased privately by bloodstock agent Alex Elliott on behalf of Excel Racing, this exciting gelding will be trained by George Scott in Newmarket.
Since purchasing ANOTHER BATT his form has been franked several times with winners & LISTED placed horses coming from his last race already. ANOTHER BATT will be targeted at a maiden race in the next two weeks.
The 2017 flat turf season officially begins today with it’s opening fixture at Doncaster. We’ve been very busy at the sales over the last 6 months and have added 7 exciting two-year-olds to our string, we’re very much looking forward to the season ahead.
Good luck to all our owners, let’s hope we’re back in the winners enclosure very soon.
We’re delighted to add an exciting addition to team Excel. A bay colt by Blue Bresil out of our very own Miss Sophierose was born yesterday at Yorton Farm.
Blue Bresil is one of the most up & coming sires. It stands to reason that Blue Bresil should be proving to be a fine source of jumpers as he is by Smadoum, sire of Nacarat and Smad Place, out of a mare by Exit To Nowhere, who supplied Noland and On The Fringe, and was talented himself on the Flat (third in the Prix Noailles and Prix Hocquart), over jumps he was also only beaten less than a length by Long Run in a Grade 3 hurdle at Auteuil.
Ibris Du Rheu put Blue Bresil’s name in lights with victory in the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockey’s hurdle at last years Cheltenham Festival. Le Prezien & Mick Jazz are two further talented sons of Blue Bresil that are helping fly the flag for this young sire.
We can’t wait to see our new colt develop over the coming years, his mother Miss Sophierose is as tough as they come so hopefully he inherits some of her spirit. She was a three time winner for Excel Racing who unfortunately had to be retired very young due to injury.
We’re delighted to have purchased an exciting point-to-point winner called Indian Hercules yesterday.
Having chased home the eye-catching and impressive Never Off Duty on debut in December 2016, Indian Hercules backed-up the promise of that opening effort when getting off the mark on his very next start in a 12-runner point-to-point contest in January 2017.
Bloodstock agent Tessa Greatrex was thrilled to have purchased the 5-year-old gelding, his jumping is a notable asset which will stand him in good stead going forward. Indian Hercules will make his bumper debut in March 2017.
This exciting gelding will be trained by Warren Greatrex at Uplands Stable in Lambourn.
Kyllachy Gala’s owners nearly got off to a dream start at Lingfield yesterday, after purchasing him from Italy several weeks ago he made his UK debut in a class 2 handicap off an official rating of 105.
Kyllachy Gala ran a fantastic race finishing second beaten a short head, he was very unlucky not to win . The plan is to now send Kyllachy Gala over to Dubai where he will run at the Carnival in several weeks time.
The Sir Prancealot colt’s owners enjoyed a fantastic morning at Ed Walker’s stunning new stable in Lambourn yesterday. The colt has taken the breaking process very well and looks very exciting for the season ahead. Last few shares remain!
After a very promising debut earlier this month DO YOU KNOW made her second start for Marco Botti last night at Chelmsford. In what was a competitive 2-year-old maiden DO YOU KNOW ran an outstanding race only to be denied in a photo finish.
Our filly led from start to finish, in the final furlong she pulled 2 lengths clear of her rivals and it looked as though she’d put the race to bed, however, unfortunately the Richard Hannon trained SADHBH rallied close home and just pipped DO YOU KNOW on the line, ending up winning by a ‘nose’.
DO YOU KNOW has improved lots for her debut performance and looks an exciting filly going forward, let’s hope she can go one place better next time out!
