26th December 2014 – Santa Delivers A Late Present At Fontwell As Miss Sophierose Wins On Hurdling Debut.

After Miss Sophierose’s impressive bumper win at Worcester back in October, connections sat back watching her form be franked with 7 winners coming out of the race before today. Warren was confident that Miss Sophierose would run a big race on hurdling debut, after she had been schooling so well at home.

In front of a packed Boxing Day crowd Miss Sophierose led from the start and showed what a tough mare she really is! In the closing stages of the race Miss Sophierose and short priced favourite Meetmeatthemoon drew 10 lengths clear of their rivals and went head to head. After hitting the second hurdle from home Miss Sophierose was headed only to battle back and beat the Phillip Hobbs trained Meetmeatthemoon on the line.

In what was a gutsy performance credit has to be given to 2014 Champion Conditional jockey Gavin Sheehan who gave Miss Sophierose a fantastic ride.

Congratulations to all involved.

30th October 2014 – Celebrations as Miss Sophierose wins at Worcester!

After four months of anticipation & hype, the owners of Miss Sophierose were delighted to see her win on debut.

Not only did she beat 16 other mares, she beat them impressively with a fantastic ride by the ever cool Conor Walsh. Sophie travelled well throughout the race, turning into the home straight she was still travelling on the bridle, when asked to put the race to bed she quickened readily and drew several lengths ahead of her rivals with the champion jockey Tony McCoy hard at work for 2nd place. Celebrations could be heard all over Worcester as connections shouted her past the winning post.

A fantastic training performance from Warren and the team at Uplands. A special mention has to go to our amazing bloodstock agent Tessa Greatrex who purchased Miss Sophierose for just £7,500 at Doncaster spring sales – Looks to be money very well spent!

Congratulations to all involved.
